Introducing Simultaneous Source and Receiving Room Level Measurements

Nov 2, 2023

Sound and vibration expert, Hottinger Brüel & Kjær has launched its Building Acoustics Partner 1.1.4 software, which provides new features for streamlined sound insulation surveys, making it ideal for onsite measurements during construction or testing room acoustics.

This update enables acoustician, consultants and anyone involved with building acoustics, to simultaneously measure source (L1) and receiving room levels (L2) by connecting two HBK 2255 Sound Level Meters to the app, which saves time and enhances user efficiency, especially when working in pairs.

The hassle of maneuvering microphone cables under doors is no longer necessary, as two Sound Level Meters measurements can be conducted at the same time.

Another new feature enables measurement of multiple points within the same room and facade sound insulation measurements, using road traffic as a source.

The Building Acoustics Partner also supports three additional languages, making it more accessible for users around the world, as the app can be set in Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, and Portuguese from Portugal.

More information about Building Acoustics Partner 1.1.4 is available on the company’s website: https://www.hbkworld.com/en/about/news/2023/building-acoustics-partner-1-1-4-release
