Leading developer David Wilson Homes has carried out volunteer work at a primary school in Swindon.
A team of volunteers who work for the Newbury-based homebuilder spent a few weeks improving facilities at Eldene Nursery and Primary School in Colingsmead, with a shared goal of creating a more enhanced learning environment for the children.
As part of the now-completed project, electrical sockets were installed in classrooms, addressing a long-standing need at Eldene Nursery and Primary School. The addition of these sockets will facilitate a more versatile and tech-friendly learning environment, for the benefit of both students and teachers.
Additionally, a new shed was constructed on the school grounds, which has provided a valuable storage space for toys, educational materials and equipment. The shed has garnered praise from teachers and students alike for its spaciousness and potential for new learning opportunities.
Heather Kellett, Headteacher at Eldene Nursery and Primary School, said: "We are immensely thankful to the team from David Wilson Homes for their remarkable efforts at Eldene Nursery and Primary School.
“Their generosity and dedication have transformed our school environment, providing essential electrical sockets in our classrooms and a spacious shed.
“These improvements will have a profound and lasting impact on the learning experiences of our students. We couldn't be happier with the results.”
Campbell Gregg, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes Southern, said: “We are truly delighted to have had the opportunity to support Eldene Nursery and Primary School through our volunteer work.
“I am very proud of our team for their hard work on this project and it’s a privilege to be able to contribute positively to the learning environment of Swindon's young learners.
“We hope that our work will benefit this excellent school and its pupils for many years to come.” For more information about the homebuilder’s developments in the area, visit David Wilson Homes.
