Following International Dog Day (26th August), Barratt and David Wilson Homes has released a pet-friendly video with a difference.

Starring Alfie, the Cockapoo, the film about Wintringham has been created to show potential buyers all the amenities on hand from both the dog and the pet owner’s perspective.

The video, which even uses footage from a GoPro worn by Alfie, shows him exploring Wintringham’s 46 acres of green open space and playing at a park. The development also boasts over nine kilometres of uninterrupted cycle and walking routes.

Alfie then heads to the historic market town of St Neots just over a mile away from the development, where he stops for a drink at a local café.

International Dog Day is celebrated annually and honours all breeds and aims to encourage the public to recognise the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year.

The developer supports dogs and other animals in the community, for example, it recently made a £1,500 donation to Animals in Need in Northampton, and employees volunteered at Wellingborough Dog Welfare.

To celebrate the launch of the new video, Barratt and David Wilson Homes will be donating £100 to local charity, Woodgreen Pets Charity, for every home reserved at its Wintringham development until Christmas.

Alison Raine, Sales Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Northampton, said: “There are many considerations that go into moving to a new home, and as we continue to see a large number of buyers moving with pets, we know that making sure your pet is happy is high on the list. We hope that this video of Alfie exploring Wintringham will help prospective buyers see how much is on offer for both humans and our furry friends.

“We’re delighted to be supporting Woodgreen Pets Charity, and we hope this donation will help the charity continue the important work that it does.”

Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes at Wintringham offer a range of amenities on the doorstep, with a brand new primary school for the growing community already on the development, as well as a nursery, health centre and retail outlets coming soon.
