The opening of two new tube stations at Nine Elms and Battersea Power Station will be a major benefit to homebuyers in the area, according to Bellway London.
The developer, which is delivering 874 homes across two developments in Nine Elms – The Residence and Lexington Gardens at The Residence – says homeowners there will now be able to take advantage of being just a three-minute walk from the new Nine Elms underground station for quicker links into central London.
The new Northern Line extension, linking Kennington to Battersea Power Station via Nine Elms, opened on Monday (20 September). The new stations have also elevated the locations on the newly-extended transport line to Zone 1 status within London.
The Nine Elms district is currently the largest regeneration zone in central London and is set to see 20,000 new homes built and 25,000 new jobs created. It’s home to the new US Embassy building, while tech giants Apple’s new London campus is set to be part of the regeneration of Battersea Power Station.
The Battersea Power Station development, which is to open next year, will also include over 100 outlets, including shops, bars, restaurants and a luxury cinema.
Emma Hamlett, Sales Director for Bellway London, said: “With two new Zone 1 tube stations opening at Battersea Power Station and Nine Elms, buyers at Lexington Gardens and The Residence can take full advantage of the new commuter links across London that are now on their doorstep.
“The scale of the ongoing regeneration in Nine Elms has already been a massive draw for house-hunters who want to be a part of this popular and transforming district and we are expecting this news to lead to further enquiries and reservations.
“We are extremely proud that we have played a key role in helping to transform Nine Elms, as well as delivering much-needed housing for the area.
“With The Residence sold out, there are currently some homes remaining for sale at Lexington Gardens, with a range of features for buyers to enjoy – including a residents-only gym, 24-hour concierge service and exclusive roof gardens.”
There’s a choice of two and three-bedroom apartments available to reserve at Lexington Gardens at The Residence, off Ponton Road. Prices start from £745,000.
