Bridgemead Residential and Nursing home raises more than £6,000 in charity auction. More than 80 people attended the auction at Gainsborough Hotel on Wednesday 7th March to support Bath’s beloved care home and bid for a range of incredible prizes.
Addison Gelpey was the auctioneer and did a brilliant job selling the ‘money can’t buy’ prizes including: a tour of the House of Commons with Wera Hobhouse, a Westminster experience with Lord Foster of Bath, and a trip behind-the-scenes at the Holburne Museum with the Director, Dr Chris Stevens.
Bridgemead’s patron, Marian McNeir, MBE said; “I am thrilled to see so many people here. Bridgemead is one of Bath’s most loved and respected residential and nursing homes. We are so grateful for everyone’s support and help in moving forward with our vision to make Bridgemead fit for the future. Our auctioneer, Addison was a star and the musicians were lovely. We are delighted this has been such a successful event.”
Matthew Blower of Fine & Country Bath, sponsor of the event, said: “We wanted to show our respect and appreciation for all the incredible work that Bridgemead achieves and to highlight this to our community.”
Jeremy Sparks, a son of a resident at Bridgemead, said: “It is so nice to support Bridgemead at an entertaining auction like this.”
Bridgemead is a not-for-profit care home offering residential and nursing care for the vulnerable older people of Bath. It is regarded as a ‘home from home by the river’ in St John’s Road, Bathwick, Bath BA2 6PZ.
