Avon Group of Companies, one of London’s leading property investment companies, and Community Fibre, London’s fastest full-fibre broadband provider, have announced a partnership to provide internet to Special Needs School Side by Side, helping to support the vital work of the school. As part of the community project, the collaboration will see Community Fibre provide 100% full-fibre broadband connectivity across the school’s new £10 million site, located in Hackney, at no cost.

Believing in a more inclusive future where everyone has access to better broadband, Community Fibre will install its most premium 1Gbps package for free, whilst also covering all ongoing monthly fees. The offering includes a true full-fibre network without the use of old copper phone wires, which will mean that the infrastructure will not require any electricity or power to be drawn by the school. This directly contributes to Side by Side’s continued efforts to be as environmentally conscious as possible.

Side by Side continues to look to the local and wider community for their assistance in raising funds for their new school, which is currently under construction. The school will be open for business in September 2022. The new and improved premises are set to cater for 130 pupils, expanding intake from the current capacity of 80 children.

This partnership will see Community Fibre collaborate with and continue to provide their unique services to Side by Side for the foreseeable future.

Jacob Sorotzkin, Chair of Governors at Side by Side, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Avon Group of Companies and Community Fibre for their kindness and generous support. Having access to this impressive broadband offering - and at no cost - will enable us to continue to provide an inclusive, interactive and high-quality education to all of our pupils.”

Israel Moskovitz, CEO of Avon Group, said: “Side by Side is a charity that is incredibly close to my heart. The work they do to support young children with disabilities is integral to the community, and, as a trustee of the school, I have been pleased to work with Community Fibre to provide a valuable service free of charge. Modern education requires fast broadband, which is why we are so pleased to partner with Community Fibre to provide Side by Side with a top-level service.”

Graeme Oxby, Chief Executive Officer of Community Fibre, said: “Just as Side by Side looks to its wider community for support, we at Community Fibre are committed to helping those in our community. We are working closely with Side by Side and the Avon Group to ensure that the pupils and teachers have access to our full-fibre broadband so that they can thrive in Side by Side’s community environment. We are delighted to be working with Side by Side and the Avon Group to support education for children, and their families through full-fibre connectivity.
