Barratt Homes has welcomed Member of Parliament for Wyre Forest, Mark Garnier OBE, for a development tour with its award-winning team in Stourport.
The constituency MP visited the housebuilder’s Folliott’s Manor development on Severn Road to view the construction progress. Mark also had the chance to congratulate Site Manager, Dan Hopkins, who won a Pride in the Job Quality Award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) this year for his work on the development and the high standards set.
During the tour of the development, the MP was given an insight into the properties under construction as Dan led a walk of the site, accompanied by Managing Director of Barratt Homes West Midlands, Adrian Evans.
Mark Garnier OBE MP said: “It was fantastic to be given a tour of the Folliott’s Manor development and see the brilliant progress the team has made.
“I am delighted more family homes are being built on brownfield sites for the next generation in Wyre Forest.
“Congratulations to Dan Hopkins for all his hard work - and winning his award which acknowledges the high standards he has set.”
The 129-home community has been a sought-after setting for house hunters since its launch in June 2022, with over 60% of the homes having now sold.
Rich in culture and history, the area surrounding the site was assessed using historical survey maps to reveal the former Carpets of Worth factory. As part of the demolition and remediation works carried out, Barratt Homes restored and re-used 4,000 bricks to retain the historical significance within the local community.
Adrian Evans, Managing Director at Barratt Homes West Midlands, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome Mark to our Folliott’s Manor development, not only to exhibit the progress we’ve made but also to celebrate the success of Dan, one of our award-winning Site Managers.”
Accolades such as the Pride in the Job awards rate Site Managers against key criteria such as technical expertise, health and safety, consistency, leadership and attention to detail. The awards celebrate the vital role Site Managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on time, on safe sites and to the highest quality standards.
What’s more, Barratt Homes has continued its commitment to giving nature a home at Folliott’s Manor. The leading housebuilder is installing 13 bird boxes and bat boxes across the development and planting 46 new trees in the new community.
Over an acre of open space is also set to be created, alongside half an acre dedicated to wildflower meadows.
Now well-established, the development features a wide range of two, three and four bedroom homes within the heart of the popular Georgian canal town.
Kickstart Shared Ownership is available at Folliott’s Manor, which enables eligible buyers who have a maximum household income of £80,000 and meet the affordability criteria to purchase up to 75% of a brand-new property and pay rent on the remaining share.
Folliott’s Manor currently has a selection of two and three bedroom homes available with prices for the Kickstart properties starting from £150,000, and open market homes priced from £292,995. For more information about the properties available, call the sales team on 033 3355 8475 or visit the website at Barratt Homes in Worcestershire.
