The school, which is located next to the developer’s Glenvale Park developments in Wellingborough, received a range of books aimed to support children’s mental health.
Founded by mental health charities, Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, Time to Talk Day is held annually to encourage everyone to start a conversation about their mental health.
Among the books donated by Barratt and David Wilson Homes were titles including ‘The Unworry Book’ by Alice James, ‘All About Feelings’ by Felicity Brooks and ‘Social Media Survival Guide’ by Holly Baithe.
Mrs Bilkhu, Headteacher at The Glenvale C of E Primary School, said: “We are delighted to have received these books from Barratt and David Wilson Homes. Supporting children’s mental health is vitally important and these books will be a great addition to our existing resources. Our children will be able to access these resources from our library, helping them learn more about their own well-being.”
Simon Francis, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Northampton, said: “We hope that these books will encourage pupils at The Glenvale C of E Primary School to consider their own mental health, and also the feelings of their peers in the playground and in everyday life.
“Anti-Bullying Week is an initiative we are proud to support, and we delighted to help local schools within our community with tools to help stop bullying.”
Glenvale Park is set in 200 acres of parkland and green open space, and provides residents with a range of amenities and areas to enjoy including a primary school, community centre, local convenience store and coffee shop, as well as sports pitches and a large play area.
