Rising investment managers Lateral have experienced quick but sustainable growth over the past year and have added another new addition to their senior team. Rob Crane joins as Head of Construction being a Director Level Project Manager and Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS). He brings with him over 20 years’ experience working on large scale projects both in London and the Regions across a number of sectors.
Lateral are a London based Investment Management firm, who specialise in sustainable forms of development. Lateral are currently developing proposals for flagship Life Science schemes in Oxford and London and have commenced works at 22 Shad Thames to deliver bespoke CAT A+ office space. Rob’s expertise in the industry and knowledge of this area will strengthen Lateral’s reputation for meticulous execution of innovative business models.
Rob Beacroft, director at Lateral IM, said: “Rob Crane’s appointment is strategic for Lateral who have a number of live and forthcoming projects across the Life Science and Office sectors. Rob’s experience is vast, and he will add value throughout the property lifecycle, particularly in the life sciences field where we are focusing our attention over the coming years.”
For the last 10 years Rob has worked at Potter Raper Limited and was a director focusing on Project Management at the long-established practice. Working on complex projects with clients such as Mayfair Capital, Legal & General and Aviva across the commercial office, pharma office, residential, retail and leisure sectors.
Previous roles also include Senior Project Manager at Turner & Townsend Project Management, where Rob delivered numerous high-profile schemes including the refurbishment / fit out of International Maritime Organisation HQ (the only United Nations building in the country) located on the banks of the Thames in Westminster as well as acting as Technical Advisor to numerous Local Authorities rolling out education frameworks. With the role allowing him to obtain significant experience in commercial, laboratory, public sector, retail, and education sectors.
Rob was also involved with many projects with Oxford University and Cambridge University during his time at Turner & Townsend, as a Senior Cost Manager at the construction consultancy. He started his career as a Contractors Quantity Surveyor working for both Osbourne and Carillion.
