The New Isuzu D-Max 2.2 Diesel will officially launch at April’s Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC, Birmingham, with UK market deliveries starting in July 2026. A new 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine is the evolution of the 1.9-litre version as a larger and more efficient Euro 6-compliant powerplant.
Accompanied by an optional new-eight-speed automatic transmission, delivering a maximum 400 Nm of torque to couple the pick-up’s 1-tonne payload, 3.5-tonne towing capacity, and off-road capability.
The vehicle range has been streamlined and updated in line with customer demand. The New Isuzu D-Max will be available in Single Cab, Extended Cab and Double Cab configurations, with the introduction of a DL40 Extended Cab model providing additional load area capacity at a higher specification. New Dunlop low-rolling resistance tyres deliver improved fuel efficiency and heightened friction on wet surfaces.
The 2026 D-Max is distinguished by a redesigned front radiator grille, front and rear lights, and a new Urban Moss metallic paint for the range-topping V-Cross model. A new Driver Monitoring System (DMS) is a standard upgrade and on the DL40 and V-Cross models, the trim levels now include a new 360° Surround View Camera, revised alloy wheels and side-step design. Interior updates include new high-grade cloth (DL20) and leather (DL40 and V-Cross) seat designs.
Managing Director at Isuzu UK, Alan Able, said: “We’re delighted to formally present the much-anticipated 2.2-litre Isuzu D-Max, with an all-new powertrain, design enhancements and additional features. The New Isuzu D-Max continues to deliver on its strong reputation, stepping up a level to combine its highly versatile load-carrying and towing capabilities both on and off road. As well as the increased torque enabled by the 2.2-litre engine, The New Isuzu D-Max retains and builds upon its exceptional reliability in commercial and rural environments.”

The New Isuzu D-Max will start from £33,495 CVOTR, with full product information and pricing announced during the Commercial Vehicle Show at Birmingham’s NEC from 21 to 23 April 2026.
