ICO publishes guidance on the use of personal data in political campaigning.
The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has published its updated political campaigning guidance which reflects changes in legislation, new technologies, and campaigning methods. The Information Commissioner gives her comments in her latest blog.
The new guidance focuses on how people’s personal data should be used in digital campaigning, in addition to the more traditional
campaigning methods.
The guidance forms part of the ICO’s ongoing work to support a transparent and lawful digital democracy. It supports all political
campaigners with practical examples on how to comply with the law.
