A Lincolnshire homebuilder is integrating Part L energy efficiency standards into its new housing development in Grimsby.
With the introduction of Part L, homeowners at David Wilson Homes’ new High Forest development have the potential to make substantial cost savings on their energy bills, while enjoying eco-friendly and sustainable living.
Part L is all about making homes super energy-efficient, in order to ensure the ability to use less energy for heating, lighting, and other everyday needs. This is achieved through features such as solar panels, increased floor insulation and enhanced double glazing.
The new requirements see buildings having to perform to higher standards – reducing CO2 emissions by 31%, together with a new emphasis on low carbon heating systems. These measures are also an interim step towards the Future Homes Standard that will arrive in 2025.
By implementing the changes at High Forest, David Wilson Homes has taken another giant leap towards creating homes that can save homebuyers money in the long run.
New build homes are up to 64% cheaper to run, according to the Home Builders Federation’s Watt a Save HBF July 2023 report, which could save homebuyers up to £2,200 per year on energy bills.
Stacey Berkeley, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes Sheffield, said: “We're thrilled to bring Part L into the homes at High Forest. It's all about giving our homeowners the best of both worlds – beautiful, comfortable homes that could also save you money in the long run.
“With the potential to save up to £2,200 per year, new build properties are a game-changer for our customers.
“As such, we’d encourage anybody interested in finding a new property in Lincolnshire to speak to our Sales Advisers to find out more about the new properties available, to ensure they don’t miss out on the first pick of the new homes.”
High Forest is situated in the popular village of New Waltham. Surrounded by green open space, the development is just a short drive away from Lincolnshire Wolds Nature Reserve and the vibrant seaside town of Cleethorpes, which makes it ideal for nature loving residents.
For commuters, High Forest offers excellent road links to Grimsby town centre by the A15. What’s more, days out at Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre, Cleethorpes Country Park and the Time Trap Museum are all easily accessible.
To register your interest in the new development, visit the website at High Forest. To find out more about any other developments in the area, visit David Wilson Homes in Lincolnshire or call 03301 735 532.
