David Wilson Homes has been granted planning permission for a brand-new housing development in Speen.

The 118-home development, located between the A34, Bath Road and Lambourn Road, will become the latest community for the Hungerford-based housebuilder.

Overall, the scheme is planned across three phases and will offer a mix of properties, including 47 affordable homes.

Campbell Gregg, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes Southern, said: “Being given the green light for our new development in Speen moves us closer to delivering more high-quality properties to meet the demand for new housing in Berkshire.

“We are looking forward to beginning the build, and the development will provide a great opportunity for local home buyers to progress on the property ladder. It will also supply another boost to the region through the creation of new jobs and financial investment in the area.”

The development, in the ancient settlement of Speen, will offer residents a semi-rural setting for their new home. Close to Newbury, there’s swift access to a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a weekly market.

Parents can find peace of mind with Speenhamland School and Robert Sandilands Primary School close to home, both of which are rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted.

Adjacent to the A34, with links to the M4, commuters living at the new development in Speen will benefit from excellent access to major towns and cities.

For information about any developments in the county, call the sales team on 033 3355 8487 or visit the website at David Wilson Homes in Berkshire.
