DUDLEYS DIRECTOR AWARDED HIGHEST PROFESSIONAL HONOUR

Peter Dixon, Director at structural and civil engineering consultancy, Dudleys has been recognised as a Fellow of the Institute of Structural Engineers. The FIStructE grade is the highest honour in the industry and recognises exceptional ability, experience, and professionalism.

Peter, who graduated with BEng Hons in Engineering at the University of Leeds, has been with Dudley’s for nearly ten years. Previously he was a Visiting Teaching Fellow in Engineering Design at the University of Bradford. Peter is also a marking and chief examiner for the IStructE CM examination since 2012.

His consultancy expertise ranges across all sectors including residential, industrial, retail, fuel, education, and healthcare. Projects including the 25-storey Great Northern Tower in Manchester, Regents Quay residential tower in Leeds, Brooklands Farm Primary School in Milton Keynes, North Moor House Northallerton NHS CAMHS and Moor Park 25 (AAA park) industrial units in Mirfield West Yorkshire.

The fellowship was awarded to Peter by Prof. Don McQuillan FIStructE, the 100th President of the Institution of Structural Engineers, at a prestigious ceremony at the Institution’s headquarters in London.

He received the Fellow status due to his outstanding contributions to the field of structural engineering, his inspirational teaching and leadership as well as his ongoing commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD). The status makes him an ambassador and spokesperson for the industry as well as a valued expert advisor.

Peter said, “I feel very honoured to have received this recognition from my peers and colleagues for the contribution I have made to the profession of structural engineering.

“I remain committed to contribute the best I can in the industry through my role at Dudleys and individually and also help to inspire young professionals to pursue a career in the field of structural engineering.”

Dudleys is a Leeds based consultancy offering Structural and Civil engineering advice across the UK. Established more than 12 years ago, the privately owned consultancy employs a team of 20 highly skilled engineers.

It operates in all key real estate sectors including residential, industrial, commercial, retail and education.  Key clients include prominent developer CEG, Leeds United, for which Dudleys is a retained consultancy and Leeds Bradford Airport. In the leisure sector Dudleys has also delivered projects for Ilkley Cinema, Opera North and Horsforth Golf Club.
