NATIONAL M&E engineering experts, Couch Perry Wilkes (CPW) marks a successful end to the financial year with two promotions and a new appointment in its East Midlands team. With significant investment in construction suggesting a promising year for the sector, the firm has bolstered its team with a trio of staff moves in the East Midlands.
Jake Langford joins the team as an intermediate mechanical design engineer. After beginning his career with a degree in architectural technology, Jake discovered his aptitude for building services and undertook a master's degree a sustainable building technology.
Jake said: “I’m enjoying my role at CPW more and more each day and it’s great to be surrounded by colleagues at all stages of their career. I’m really enjoying learning from colleagues as well as passing my knowledge on to those in earlier stages of their career.
“I’m looking forward to taking projects all the way from inception to completion as well as employing techniques along the way to respond to growing concerns around climate change. As engineers, we have a unique capability to make real change through design.”
Carl Hubbard has also been promoted to associate director and is relocating to the Nottingham office once remote working has subsided. He’ll be taking over a team in this office to support and develop colleagues as well as manage projects at a higher level.
Carl added: “I’ve always appreciated the trust and independence CPW allows its employees and I’m looking forward to taking this further as an associate director. I’ll be personally responsible for my team’s performance and will be helping the with their professional development as well as overseeing projects.
“Working life has changed dramatically over the last 12 months and CPW’s flexibility and ability to react to change has ensured our success during this challenging time. I’m sure more hurdles are yet to come but it’s an exciting time to be in the construction sector with encouraging progress being made.”
Ryan Gibson has also been promoted to senior engineer. Ryan is a success story of CPW’s apprentice scheme – having started as a college leaver aged 19, Ryan has embraced the construction industry’s modelling technology and now undertakes a vital role in the Nottingham office in building environment simulation.
Director Alex Jones said: “To announce such great news is really something special after the challenges of 2020. We pride ourselves on always supporting and promoting our staff, ensuring they get the best training and opportunities.
“We’re looking forward to an exciting year in the construction industry and seeing where new investment will take the sector.”
