CONSTRUCTION think-tank Constructing Excellence Midlands has announced a landmark partnership with innovation exchange platform The Grid to provide access to dedicated digital social platform SciGrid for its members.
SCi Grid - which facilitates engagement with social value projects in the construction industry - aims to provide guidance on how firms can achieve Net Zero Carbon, providing guidance on the best practice solutions and current policies, as well as becoming a space for collaborative partners to showcase their industry expertise.
The activity feed on SCi Grid will connect innovative minds, companies and organisations to provide a blend of real life, real time and virtual engagement for the construction industry in the Midlands.
The platform will allow industry experts to highlight sustainable construction projects and engage in thought leadership, as well as an opportunity for firms to advertise job opportunities in front of an engaged audience of potential employees.
Andrew Carpenter, chief executive at Constructing Excellence Midlands, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer The SCI Grid group to all of our members of our collaborative organisation. By incorporating the use of the platform into our offering, it will help to increase visibility of the groundbreaking sustainable projects that our members undertake, as well looking to continue to push the boundaries of social value innovation.
“We believe that SCi Grid will be transformative for how our members engage and collaborate across social innovation projects. The Midlands has been lacking in a single-point resource for the construction supply-chain that is dedicated to environmental sustainability and innovation, and so we believe that this partnership will allow Constructing Excellence Midlands to continue to pioneer sustainable cross-sector collaboration in the region.”
Noel Street, director at 3DReid, chair of the Constructing Excellence Midlands Sustainability and Innovation Theme Group, and a founder of SCi Grid, said: “SCi Grid is an exciting platform for innovators in the built environment to connect, exchange and grow. It’s community-driven approach makes the platform incredibly useful for idea creation, entrepreneurial flair, creativity and sector growth.
“Our mission is to create an inclusive platform for cross-sector engagement between like-minded entrepreneurs, corporates, and the local construction business support ecosystem.”
