Closures on London Overground over the festive period

Dec 10, 2024

Over Christmas and New Year, there are some planned works and service changes on the London Overground. Services will run differently across the TfL network between Christmas Eve and Thursday 2 January, so check before you travel.

On Christmas Eve - Last trains will run from 21:30.

On Christmas Day - No services on the Tube and rail network. The only transport running will be taxi and private hire services, Santander Cycles, e-scooters, coaches and Dial-a-Ride (for registered members only).

On Boxing Day - A reduced service will run on the Mildmay line between Clapham Junction and Stratford, and on the Windrush line between Highbury & Islington and West Croydon. There will be no service on any other London Overground lines.

From Friday 27 December until Wednesday 1 January - No service on the Weaver line between Liverpool Street and London Fields. A limited service will run between London Fields and Chingford, Enfield Town and Cheshunt. For travel between central London and Enfield Town/Cheshunt, use the Victoria line and change at Seven Sisters. For travel between central London and Chingford, use the Victoria line and change at Walthamstow Central.

On New Year's Eve, overnight services will run on:

  • Windrush line between Highbury & Islington and West Croydon/Crystal Palace
  • Mildmay line between Stratford and Clapham Junction/Richmond
  • Weaver line between London Fields and Chingford, Enfield Town and Cheshunt

Services will be available throughout the night on many modes across the network on New Year's Eve (we are not able to offer free travel on New Year's Eve). For more information, visit the Christmas and New Year travel page.
