Balfour Beatty company Howard S. Wright selected for renovations in David Douglas School District in Oregon, US

Howard S. Wright, a Balfour Beatty company, has been selected to deliver multiple renovation projects to various schools and facilities in David Douglas School District in Portland, Oregon, US.

Howard S. Wright will make $15.7 million (£12.1 million) in renovations and repairs to facilities within the David Douglas School District for schools including West Powellhurst Elementary, Floyd Light Middle and South Powellhurst. The major project features include heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) upgrades, electrical and generator upgrades, fire alarm replacement, additional security vestibule and the remodeling of specialty areas.

This award is a strategic opportunity for Howard S. Wright’s operations as the business focuses to expand its market expertise within the K-12 education sector. The company will leverage its extensive experience in the higher education and renovation sectors to successfully deliver the District’s upgrades which includes the deliveries of various higher education projects for the University of Oregon including the Jane Sanders Stadium and the Student Recreation Centre. The company has also delivered renovations to the Hoxton Hotel and Salem Public Library. Howard S. Wright will work with BBL Architects to deliver David Douglas School District’s renovations. Full contract award is expected in Q4 2024 with construction activities starting in June 2025. The renovations are scheduled for completion in September 2025.
