Leading public services provider Amey has been appointed by United Utilities to look after its South region wastewater network.
The six-year contract, which started from 1 April 2019, has been awarded for maintenance on the network, with key objectives to improve customer experience, bring innovation and help to proactively identify and resolve issues on the network before they impact customers.
David McLoughlin, Managing Director for Amey Utilities, said: “We have been a trusted supplier for United Utilities in network maintenance for nearly a decade, our success in continuing this partnership allows us to safely deliver United Utilities’ vision, putting customers at the heart of everything we do by maximising the value of our engineering and operational expertise.”
Amey has also secured contracts as a partner for specialist services and small projects in both waste and clean water.
Kevin Fowlie, United Utilities’ network delivery director, said of the contract awards that it would: “help us improve customer experience, achieve the highest standards of health and safety and provide an end-to-end view of all the maintenance activities in progress.”
