Amey Consulting Becomes Registered Practice With The Landscape Institute

Amey Consulting, one of the UK’s leading engineering consultancies, has today announced it has been accepted as a registered practice with the Landscape Institute, the chartered body for the landscape profession. The announcement is testament to the expansion of Amey Consulting’s landscaping offering and follows the delivery of some high-profile work regenerating city centres across the UK. The news also coincides with World Landscape Architecture Month (WLAM), a month-long international celebration of landscape architecture and designed public and private spaces.

A key benefit of today’s announcement is the ability for Amey Consulting to support its landscape architects on the pathway to chartership as well as guaranteeing clients a quality benchmark backed by the professional body. The offering has seen significant growth in recent years with the number of chartered professionals in the team growing substantially as well as Chris Leeming being named as one of Pro Landscaper’s 30 Under 30 in 2020.

Amey Consulting has recently been commissioned by the City of Wolverhampton Council to produce a public realm strategy and concept design for planned works at the City Centre public realm. The project aims to create event spaces across the city as well an investing in active travel infrastructure such as pedestrian areas and cycle lanes. The work is vital in supporting Wolverhampton to grow sustainably.

The award of this project builds on Amey Consulting’s successful work with Liverpool City Council and the development of detailed design proposals for the redevelopment of the city. Among the areas regenerated were Ropewalks, a thriving area of Liverpool City Centre. Amey Consulting created a sustainable scheme design including a new green area in the inner-city harbour area, as well as upgrading the pavement, retaining the areas character and promoting active travel. The work improved road safety in the area as well as increasing connectivity, helping to attract future investment into the busy bohemian hub of Liverpool.
