Kier Living has become the first UK national housebuilder to offer the full suite of Nest products and Google Home Hub to homebuyers across the country.
Kier Living will offer customers the opportunity to have the smart home system installed in their new home before they move in. Buyers will also benefit from a lower purchase price for the system than if they had bought it on the high street.
The first Kier Living homes with the Nest option will be available at Oakthorpe, Peterborough, from 1 April 2019. Further sites will follow in the coming months before a nationwide rollout.
Kier sales advisors, fully trained by Nest experts, will be on hand at each of the sites to ensure buyers make the most of the technology.
John Anderson, executive director for Kier Living, said: “As a business, we always strive to offer a first-class service for our customers – and this is an exciting example of us being able to give them the next generation of performance for their new home.
“Use of smart technology is on the rise, with customers now able to control all aspects of their lives remotely and we are thrilled to be able to offer the full range of Nest products to offer the latest in smart home technology across our developments to help add to the enjoyment buyers get from their new home.
Google Home and Nest products allow residents to control them via their smartphones or voice. The optional features will range across measures to improve energy efficiency, fire safety and security – including the Nest Learning Thermostat, Nest Protect Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm and Nest Hello video doorbell.
