With the UK currently embracing all things Scandinavian, from TV shows to the ultimate quest for cosiness known as 'hygge', people can now buy into another Scandi concept with the launch of a new, stylish and high-performance external weatherboard cladding system.
The system, which is suitable for both residential and commercial properties, offers a modern alternative to wood and fibre cement plank cladding, is now available to buy in the UK for the first time.
VIVIX Lap is produced by global surfacing products manufacturer, Formica Group, and is being sold exclusively by Arnold Laver, the UK's leading supplier of timber and construction materials. The product comes in eight colours and four wood tones and requires no treatments or paint.
The pre-cut planks feature a screw fixed solution and are installed in an overlapping arrangement that conceals fixings to give a perfect finish.
Tom Andrews, Sales Director of Arnold Laver, said: “VIVIX Lap combines a classic cladding style with a modern twist that can be used to fully clad a building, or as a design feature, alongside other materials. The product is quick and easy to install, it requires very little ongoing maintenance and it looks fantastic, which makes it a great alternative to traditional cladding materials.
“As a result, it's popular with self-builders, developers, specifiers and construction professionals and can be applied to everything from new build housing and renovation projects, garden offices, sheds and garages, to commercial business parks, retail outlets, park homes and holiday lodges. VIVIX Lap is also a cost-effective way to give an old building a new, fresh and modern appearance, as well as having the potential to include insulation to improve the efficiency of a property.”
VIVIX Lap planks come in packs of four for easy handling and are 2990mm long and 180mm high. A complete range of complementary colour matched accessories including installation profiles, trims and screws are also available to create a perfect finish.
