Employees at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Cambridgeshire recently came together to pack shoeboxes full of toys and necessities as part of the Samaritan’s Purse’s Operation Christmas Child campaign.

The project, which helps children in need have a Christmas to remember, sees shoeboxes filled with toys, hygiene items and school supplies, which are then delivered all over the world to give many children their first ever gift.

The Peterborough-based homebuilder packed 50 boxes for both boys and girls aged two to four, five to nine and 10 to 14.

Will Phair, Sales Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Cambridgeshire, said: “Our whole team really took to the idea of being involved in Operation Christmas Child and packed their shoeboxes with lots of fantastic gifts.

“As a leading homebuilder, it’s important to us that we support a range of different causes, and credit goes to each of our colleagues for thinking of others and allowing them to have a special Christmas.”

Since 1990, more than 178 million children in more than 150 countries have received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox.

The Samaritan’s Purse family has been providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world since 1970.
