Barratt Homes recently sponsored Thornberry Animal Sanctuary’s Woof This Way charity dog walk in Sheffield.

The event took dog-walkers on a three-and-a-half mile walk and quiz trail around Rother Valley in celebration of the sanctuary’s 35th anniversary.

A craft market, food and drink, dog treats and other games were also available at the event, all of which raised money for Thornberry Animal Sanctuary.

Ged Jenkins-Omar, Fundraising Manager at Thornberry Animal Sanctuary, said: “Sponsorship like this really helps the sanctuary to carry out the work we do. The event was a great success and we look forward to building a relationship with Barratt Homes”.

Thornberry Animal Sanctuary, established in 1988, is located near the developer’s Thornberry Gardens development in Dinnington and cares for dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and more.

Gary Chambers, Managing Director at Barratt Homes Sheffield, said: “We are so pleased to have supported Thornberry Animal Sanctuary with its Woof this Way charity event.

“We hope both the dogs and owners enjoyed the day, and that a lot of money was raised to help this great charity.”

Barratt Homes’ Thornberry Gardens development offers semi-rural living with excellent city connections. Residents can benefit from a range of local amenities in the nearby town of Dinnington, as well as Sheffield city centre being less than 16 miles away.
