ALA Homes (South Home Counties) has announced the appointment of Alistair Currie as Senior Land Manager and Edward Vass as Land Buyer, to support the region’s ambitious growth plans across West Kent, Sussex and Surrey.
Alistair, with 35 years’ industry experience, has worked for major housebuilders including Barratt Homes, on large-scale developments across the South and North Home Counties. At CALA, Alistair will focus on expanding the region’s portfolio across the South, focussing on land opportunities with capacity for 30 homes or more in sought-after town and larger village locations, with and without 03planning.
Commenting on his appointment, Alistair said:
“We’ve got some ambitious targets for this year and the next. As more and more professionals and families, predominantly from London, look to improve their quality of life by moving to towns in and around the South Home Counties, there’s a great deal of demand for high-quality, community-focussed new build developments. Given CALA’s existing and strong reputation in this space, they’re well-placed to capitalise on this demand – it’s an exciting time to be joining the business.”
Edward Vass joins CALA with over four years’ experience in land buying. He will focus on sourcing new land opportunities, while driving CALA’s delivery of 193 homes at its North Horsham development in West Sussex. Alongside his role, Edward is studying for a degree in Urban and Environmental Planning at London South Bank University to strengthen his skillset within the sector.
Nick Brown, Regional Land Director said:
“We’re thrilled to welcome both Alistair and Edward to the CALA team. The South Home Counties region is one with huge potential and we look forward to seeking diverse land opportunities in our target areas of West Kent, Sussex and Surrey. The knowledge and skills brought by Alistair and Edward will be invaluable in helping us achieve our goals.”
North Horsham is a new Legal & General development encompassing 2,750 new homes, shops, community facilities, cycle paths and extensive green open space. Work has begun on the first phase of 193 homes, delivered by CALA, and will comprise 193 new homes and apartments, including 25 affordable housing properties.
