Much like the crane-cradled developments of major cities, construction technology is popping up each and every day, all with the goal of making the products of our sector less intense on its workers, customers, and the environment that surrounds it all. In the spirit of giving back, we’re letting our readers in on a few works of construction technology that caught our eye this month.

Pagabo – The ‘MyPagabo’ digital procurement platform

With hopes of simplifying the tender process for clients whilst putting them in the driving seat, national framework provider Pagabo has launched its own digital procurement technology, MyPagabo.

Through “intelligent dashboards” and “access to a fully integrated procurement process”, Pagabo clients will be provided with real insights into their projects, suppliers and any other relevant information through the platform for free.

It will also allow clients to input any necessary data for their organisation, view live projects, quickly start new ones.

When speaking about the technology, Business Analyst at Pagabo, Julian Penna, said: “It brings procurement into the future through the use of digital and will allow clients to manage their complete procurement processes -including all correspondence – in a central location.

“As well as the obvious benefits of streamlining, time saving and less physical paperwork, clients will be able to manage the entire process from the outset starting with an expression of interest, through the tendering and awarding process.”

Recognising the ever-changing nature of construction, beta testers of MyPagabo have noted how it helps to address more efficient ways of working whilst narrowing costs without the need to compromise on quality.

Speaking to Design & Build, the executive chairman of Pagabo, Gerard Toplass said: Gerard Toplass, executive chairman of Pagabo, said:

“Every industry must continually consider the ways in which it needs to adapt to its customers, suppliers, employees and employers. In the last two years, we have all experienced added pressures and considerations, the first of which was Brexit, followed by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Both have considerably impacted the construction industry in terms of how, when, and ultimately, where we will work.

“In order to thrive and become an attractive industry that supports innovation, supports its people and helps to create a world that we can be happy to leave to our children’s children, we need to embrace innovation and a ‘digital first’ approach in everything that we do.

“Pagabo recognises this and has started its own journey to shaping a future industry that adopts a technology ecosystem, which the future innovators of our industry can leverage to deliver on all manners of improvements that are needed to be made.

“My Pagabo is the first step of that journey. As a company, we have always been a leader, not a follower, and we are going to build out a platform that delivers value and efficiency for our clients and suppliers, as well as helps meet the government’s own agendas for improving procurement and construction.”
