Prestige Gifting, the UK’s leading online florist, has secured a new 9,677 sq ft headquarters workspace at Dean Clough, the 22-acre mixed use mill-complex in Halifax town centre. The business, which also offers hamper gifts, has moved from existing offices at Dean Clough, trebling its floorspace to occupy an entire floor in G Mill to facilitate expansion.
Established in 2011 by Halifax born brothers Simon and Philip Crowther, Prestige Gifting has enjoyed phenomenal growth over the last 11 years to become a £100 million turnover business.
Combining their respective skills as a digital media/e-commerce expert and trained lawyer, the brothers have harnessed the digital age with a business that serves bespoke branded, luxury and budget floral arrangements and gifts with 40% year on year growth.
With several sub brands and white labelling for a number of well know high street operators, Prestige Gifting is established as the UK’s leader, recognised for its ethical and sustainable practices.
Simon Crowther, Managing Director at Prestige Gifting, said,
“We are delighted to announced further expansion with our new HQ space at Dean Clough, a very special destination that has served us through various expansion phases in recent years. It is also a legacy to our own grandmother, who herself worked at Dean Clough during its industrial reign.
“We have secured an entire floor at G Mill and invested £400,000 with an incredible fit out that is worthy of our brilliant team of 70. The space allows us scale to accommodate up to 150 people and we have been able to install bespoke facilities, including our own photography studio, to allow an inclusive and collaborative environment.
“We considered a city centre relocation, but Dean Clough gives us the incomparable combination of green space, engaging public realm, stunning culture, free onsite parking, landlord flexibility and a mutually respectful community on site.”
Jeremy Hall, Chairman and Managing Director at Dean Clough Ltd, said,
“We are thrilled that Prestige Gifting has expanded its hugely successful operation here, making this commitment at Dean Clough for many years to come. We are also a family business with symmetrical values and Prestige Gifting is a vibrant and dynamic part of the wonderful Dean Clough community.
“Dean Clough is a true mixed use destination. We have relished the opportunity to regenerate these magnificent mills, striving to champion their qualities whilst redeveloping them to create characterful and efficient workspaces for the 21st century. A best practice approach to their reuse delivers highly efficient modern workspace with the indisputable carbon benefits of repurposing buildings.”
“We are investing in the site to deliver further Grade A office accommodation alongside the unique spaces that we provide for retail, leisure and cultural amenity. This includes the introduction of flexible workspaces, unique outdoor pods with enhanced public realm, and the redevelopment of an historic courtyard. We are currently redeveloping five floors in Bowling Mill to provide new Grade A office accommodation offering space from 3,366 sq ft up to 54,768 sq ft.”
Dean Clough is an important heritage collection of 16 mill buildings stretching over half a mile to accommodate three quarters of a million sq ft of workspace. They were originally constructed between 1840 and 1870 by the Crossley family, who founded Crossley Carpets in 1822 and soon became the largest carpet manufacturer in the world. The subsequent decline in the textile industry forced closure in 1982 after which the complex was purchased privately for redevelopment.
Since acquiring the historic site nearly 40 years ago, Dean Clough Limited has already invested tens of millions to fund the regionally significant regeneration project. Through long term investment and considered curation Dean Clough has since become a major success story for Halifax, Leeds City Region, and indeed Yorkshire with a diverse hub for 150 businesses employing around 3,000 people. It is a destination known for its diversity, being home to a range of small independent businesses through to large enterprises such as Covea Insurance. An established arts and cultural offering includes a theatre with two resident theatre companies, six galleries with a permanent art collection on display as well as a dedicated arts mill with studios.
Dean Clough is located on the edge of Halifax town centre, between Leeds and Manchester, and just 15 minutes from the M62 with direct train links to Leeds, Manchester, and London. https://www.deanclough.com/
