Barratt and David Wilson Homes recently challenged pupils at Priors Hall ALC to a local area drawing competition.
The developer, which has just launched new communities at Priors Hall Park in Corby, asked pupils of the school to draw or paint something significant in their local area. This could be their own house, the road they live on, or a notable building in the area.
After receiving a number of worthy entries, Barratt and David Wilson Homes picked a winner which was completed by seven-year-old Jasper, and a runner-up that was completed by seven-year old Harry.
Jo Young, Year Six Teacher and Art Lead at Priors Hall ALC, said: “We were amazed at the beautiful pieces of artwork that were submitted for this competition. It is wonderful to see children inspired by their local area and celebrating it in a creative way. Well done to everyone who took part!”
To encourage them to continue creating art, both the winner and runner-up received an art set from Barratt and David Wilson Homes.
Alison Raine, Sales Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Northampton, said: “As a leading developer, it is really important that we support the community in the areas in which we build.
“We are thrilled to be part of this artistic endeavour at Priors Hall ALC. The standard of artwork was brilliant and everyone who entered did a fantastic job, and we can’t thank everyone enough for taking part.”
Priors Hall Park set amongst extensive woodland and parklands, with cycle paths and walking routes that provide easy and sustainable access to the nearby market town of Corby.
For commuters, the development offers excellent road links including the A43, A14, M1 and M6 all nearby, as well as trains from Corby Station reaching London St Pancras in just over an hour.
