St. Modwen Logistics has let an additional 55,000 sq ft unit to European haulage firm McGregor Logistics Ltd at its scheme in Doncaster, following the occupier’s initial move last year.
The deal means the leading logistics company has more than doubled its warehouse space at St. Modwen Park Doncaster to over 95,000 sq ft across two refurbished units, having signed a three-year lease on a 40,000 sq ft unit back in February 2020.
St. Modwen Park Doncaster is now one of McGregor Logistics’ main distribution hubs in the UK and its expansion follows the recent news that industry-leading fencing and decking manufacturer Fitrite has agreed terms for a 21,272 sq ft unit at the scheme.
The 27-acre industrial and logistics site, half of which has been redeveloped to provide 245,000 sq ft of additional industrial and logistics units, is also home to global technology giant Bosch and logistics firm DB Schenker. Only one high-specification 53,072 sq ft unit remains available for immediate occupation which is being marketed by CBRE and CPP.
St. Modwen Park Doncaster has created numerous job opportunities for workers across South Yorkshire and is strategically located close to the town centre, Doncaster Sheffield Airport and the M18.
Ben Silcock, Development and Leasing Manager at St. Modwen Logistics, said: “Our Doncaster scheme has been very successful and has brought plenty of promise to the local economy. We are pleased to have aided McGregor Logistics in its expansion at St. Modwen Park Doncaster, allowing the firm to more than double its square footage on site. Scalability and occupier growth is always an important part of every discussion we have with potential customers, and we look forward to helping more South Yorkshire businesses grow here in Doncaster.”
Keith Law, Managing Director at McGregor Logistics Ltd, added: “Our Doncaster base has become a crucial distribution site for the company and so an expansion of our existing premises seemed the perfect solution for our business’ continued growth. St. Modwen Park Doncaster’s excellent transport links make it the ideal location for us and we look forward to continuing to work with St. Modwen following the expansion of our operation in the UK and European logistics sector.”
Rebecca Schofield, Partner and head of the Yorkshire industrial team at Knight Frank, which marketed the development, added: “McGregor Logistics’ expansion demonstrates the growing demand for warehouse space in the distribution sector – particularly at well-located sites such as St. Modwen Park Doncaster. In spite of the present difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic, distribution companies are still managing to grow and expand.”
