Hampshire construction firm charts record growth despite industry challenges

Hampshire-based construction firm, PAH Building & Construction, has already secured two thirds of its projected £18 million turnover for 2026, driven mainly by growth in its retrofitting and insurance work. This milestone has been achieved despite wider industry challenges, with UK construction companies facing a 17% drop in construction starts on site in Q1 2026, resulting partly from the war in Iran.[1]

PAH Building & Construction Ltd was founded in 2010 by Trevor Wilkins and Mark Cuttriss. The business delivers residential retrofit and refurbishment projects, bespoke new builds and complex insurance remediation works across the UK.

Growth has been largely driven by new partnerships and diversification, including supporting large scale Service Family Accommodation refurbishment projects through contracts with VIVO and Amey throughout England and Scotland. These homes are provided by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) to UK armed personnel families. The firm has also secured several complex flooding and fire damage insurance projects this year, many with new insurance clients, including two homes that need to be rebuilt in their entirety.

Since 2022, PAH Building & Construction has expanded its team with over 22 additional employees across site management and trade roles.

Over the last 12 months the firm has also established a partnership with Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) and opened an educational workspace at its Mindenhurst site for the pupils to use as a classroom. Monthly visits are offered to the college to give experience of large sites to their students. After one of the visits PAH organise for the students on their sites the company recently welcomed a work experience placement student from the college who had reached out during her first year of studies. Another BCoT student, Rafferty Evans, joined the firm in January as their first carpentry apprentice.
