Harron Homes Yorkshire has partnered with Candlelighters as its Charity of the Year for 2026, supporting the vital work the charity does for children with cancer and their families.

Candlelighters was formed in 1976 to provide care for children with cancer in Yorkshire. Over the years, it has assisted in transforming the quality of support, treatment and research available to patients and their families. The charity also provides home-from-home accommodation at The Candlelighters Cottage and Eckersley House, a short walk from Leeds Children’s Hospital, which houses families as their child receives inpatient treatment for cancer.

The housebuilder plans to support Candlelighters throughout the year with various fundraising activities. The money raised will help fund research into new treatments, training for the next generation of doctors, and support for the families affected.

Lucinda Dickens, Sales and Marketing Director for Harron Homes Yorkshire, said, “As a housebuilder with developments across Yorkshire, supporting the communities we serve is incredibly important to us. Candlelighters is a powerful example of how that can be done, and we’re proud to support the charity and give back to the people who have welcomed us.”

The charity’s head office in Leeds is located near Harron Homes’ Merchant Fields development in Cleckheaton, and operates across the whole of Yorkshire, where Harron has several other developments.
