Higgins has been awarded the £44 million contract to design and build 208 brand new mixed tenure homes for Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing on the former iconic Shredded Wheat Factory site in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.
The scheme will comprise 52 Shared Ownership properties, 106 for affordable rent and 50 homes exclusively for the over 55s.
The Shredded Wheat Factory south site will deliver high quality homes that are geared at fulfilling the housing needs of the local community. Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council approved plans in December 2019 after close consultation with the local community.
