Audley Group, the UK’s leading provider of luxury retirement villages, today announces the Chiltern District Council’s Planning Committee has resolved to grant planning permission for an extension to Audley Chalfont Dene, subject to the completion of a legal agreement.
The councillors voted unanimously in favour of the application which sought permission for a further 58 new units and a village hall. The next step will be to complete the legal agreement and then the Council will be in a position to issue the planning permission, but with this decision from the Committee, the application has reached a key milestone.
Audley Chalfont Dene is currently home to 84 luxury properties as well as the Audley Club, situated in Chalfont House, all of which have been developed to reflect the traditional Arts and Crafts character of the Chilterns. Owners and members of the local community can enjoy the luxury facilities at the Audley Club, including a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, gym and spa.
John Nettleton, Land Director, Audley Group, said: “This resolution brings us one step closer to delivering more luxury retirement living in the Chilterns. The unanimous decision of the councillors is indicative of the value they see these additional units bringing to the local area; it is a proposal that has been welcomed by Audley owners, politicians and the parish council. It is also testament to the team here at Audley and the quality of the work undertaken to secure this resolution.”
Kevin Shaw, Managing Director, Audley Group, said: “The Group has accelerated its land acquisition in recent months to meet the growing demand in the market, across both the Audley Villages and Mayfield Villages brands. Developments such as Chalfont puts Audley Group at the front of the pack in the retirement village sector.”
Situated just a short drive from both Chalfont St Peter and neighbouring Gerrard’s Cross, Audley Chalfont Dene offers luxury retirement living on the doorstep of some of the South East’s most beautiful countryside, and near rail links which reach central London in just 20 minutes.
