Pye Homes’ new Church Farm community in Radley was highly commended in the Development of the Year category at the prestigious Insider South East Property Awards.

The awards ceremony, which took place at the Crowne Plaza Felbridge hotel in Gatwick, celebrates design quality, place-making, commercial success and contribution to local communities through regeneration and social impact.

Church Farm, which will eventually include 240 properties, is being created in line with Pye’s ‘how we build principles’, based on the belief landowners have a social, economic and moral responsibility to deliver quality housing solutions of which its local community can be proud.

The commendation is the latest in a series of successes for the new community which has also been nominated for the Building Project of the Year award at the SECBE Awards.

Pye Homes is also in line for three awards at the forthcoming OxPropFest Awards including the ‘Best Contractor of the Year’, as well as ‘Best Innovative / Sustainability Initiative of the Year’ and ‘Best Residential Development’ for Church Farm.

Pye Homes Managing Director, Graham Flint, said: “Church Farm is a prime example of a new way of building which uses high quality traditional, local materials to create sustainable, energy-efficient homes.

“We’re delighted it has been recognised by our peers in the industry at these prestigious awards,” he added.

Once completed, the Church Farm community will include 84 affordable homes; 21 of which will be shared ownership and the remaining 63 will form part of an affordable rent scheme. The other 156 properties are available to buy on the open market.

Formed in 1927 and celebrating its 95th anniversary this year, Pye Homes has built up a wealth of experience with successful developments in many counties including Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire and West Sussex.
