Design, fit out and workplace consultancy Office Principles is anticipating government directives ahead of the UK’s return to work by launching a specialist Office Renew and Covid-19 Clean programme. Designed to be fast-track, cost-effective and efficient, the programme is intended to help employers to reassure workers that their workspace is a safe environment to come back to.
The programme covers deep cleaning and sanitisation, including the elimination of cold and flu viruses and mould and mildew. It also allows for a refreshment element, encompassing painting, carpet, ceiling and lamp fitting replacement and the steam cleaning of all fabrics and drapes. Office Principles believes that the refreshment service is an essential part of the offering in order to provide the necessary added reassurance that the office is a clean and revitalised, safe environment to return to.
Joint managing director of Office Principles, Cyril Parsons comments: “There is a psychological barrier to overcome in the return to work in such unprecedented times and many workers will be nervous in the very first instance. Employers will have to work hard to alleviate those fears and will need to display some outward sign that adequate measures have been taken to protect their employees.
“Smartening the overall appearance of the office supports any deep clean and sanitisation activity and provides visual reassurance that the space is safe to re-enter.”
Office Principles’ core team has worked with psychologists, designers and strategists to look into the probable effect that the Coronavirus will have on the office moving forward and how the environment might change to accommodate the return to work.
Cyril adds: “For us, it’s very much a shifting landscape and we are doing all we can to help provide clients with guidance on what the next steps might be. This covers everything from advice on social distancing to reviewing walkways around the office and the general flow of movement. It’s essential that workers continue to feel that their wellbeing is valued and that their physical and mental health is the top consideration when the work environment is being reassessed.”
Office Principles is currently supplying a range of items including face masks, hand sanitiser, Perspex dividers and foot-operated sanitising stations to help stop infection spreading in the workplace. The company is donating £1 to NHS Charities Together for every box of goods ordered.
The company’s strong and varied commercial portfolio of clients includes blue-chip brands such as Exterion Media, Telegraph Media Group, Visa Europe, GE Capital, Fitness First, Tata Communications, ResMed, Direct Marketing Association, Land Securities, Mothercare, Spencer Ogden, Cooper Parry, Llama Soft, Grand Union Housing, Inspired Gaming and Kuoni.
