Engineering, environment and design consultancy Sweco UK has strengthened its senior team with three key promotions across its Buildings division.
Mark Davison, who heads Sweco’s fire engineering team, has been promoted to technical director. Mark has more than 17 years’ experience in fire engineering for buildings and specialises in delivering creative and practical engineering solutions for a diverse range of projects. He was heavily involved in Sweco’s work on the award-winning Bloomberg headquarters in London as well as London City Airport and Spinningfields in Manchester.
Edmund Vaughan has been made operations director. He has 12 years’ experience in project management, business development and technical consultancy across a variety of sectors including education, commercial office and residential. His experience includes the Vauxhall Square development in London, which features two 50-storey residential towers, two large office blocks, a hotel, a cinema, a hostel and multiple affordable housing and retail units.
Kartik Amrania, a chartered mechanical engineer with a background in building services, has been promoted to associate. He joined Sweco in 2012 as a senior sustainability engineer and progressed to head of the department in 2014. He has more than 12 years’ experience in sustainable building design and under his leadership Sweco has won awards including BREEAM Company of the Year in 2014 and 2016. Some of his projects include the One Pancras Square and Spire London, and he was also the appointed BREEAM Assessor for the Bloomberg headquarters, which achieved the world’s highest BREEAM rating.

All three promotions will play a key part in growing a strong pipeline of multi-disciplinary, high value construction opportunities in the UK and help our business push forward. Sweco consults on major projects nationwide via its network of 14 regional offices, with clients from the public and private sector and across various sectors including education, commercial office and residential.
