UK RESIDENTIAL and commercial property developer Godwin Developments has strengthened its marketing and communications team with the appointment of senior communications manager, Catherine Hems.
Based out of Birmingham, Catherine steps into a newly created role to lead the developer’s strategic communications and boost its stakeholder engagement across a growing portfolio of residential and commercial projects across the country.
Catherine joins the multi-sector property developer from communications consultancy and reputation management agency New Century Media, based in London, where she held the position of account director and supported a variety of property investor clients, financial service businesses and international companies. A graduate from the University of Birmingham with a degree in Russian studies and international relations, she previously worked at Instinctif Partners, where she specialised in capital markets communications.
Commenting on her appointment, Catherine said: “I am delighted to have joined Godwin Developments at such an exciting and busy time for the business. The company’s clear ambition and demonstrable momentum presented an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up. With the support of Godwin’s marketing director, Krassi Stoyanova, and the wider team, I am looking forward to playing an active role in growing the business, leading on strategic communications and stakeholder engagement, while also working closely with external partners to showcase Godwin Developments’ extensive project portfolio and pipeline.”
Catherine has also recently been accepted onto the 2021 mentorship programme from Bloom Network, which seeks to provide equal opportunities for women in communications, while also spearheading industry change and empowering future female leaders.

The announcement of Catherine’s arrival follows a period of rapid expansion for the developer which included the appointments of Michael Jones to the position of construction director, Robert Birch and Lindsay McCombe as senior development directors, Owen Michaelson as regional chairman – London, and the promotion of James Mulcare to the position of head of residential capital markets.
