Amey is delighted to announce that the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) has exercised its contracted options to extend the Next Generation Estates contracts (NGEC). These contracts were let originally to CarillionAmey in 2015 and provide critical response maintenance, estate compliance and project investment for all Defence technical estate assets under the four Regional Prime contracts and 49,500 houses under the National Housing Prime Contract. The extensions will see all contracts extended for between 13 and 24 months.

Since acquiring the shareholding originally held by Carillion following its liquidation in January 2018, Amey has been successfully managing all the contracts and we have seen increasing levels of performance delivery over the last 12 months, particularly in relation to delivery of the response maintenance service, customer satisfaction and investment in the Defence estate. In the last financial year, Amey worked closely with DIO and Front Line Commands to deliver record levels of project work across the national Defence estate.

Andy Milner, Amey’s Chief Executive said

“Confirmation of the option to extend these contracts from DIO will enable us now to build on the hard work of the Amey team and our dedicated supply chain to continue to support the MOD, Service personnel and their families. We have seen real progress on delivery in the last 12 months and I look forward to working with DIO and the Front Line Commands over the duration of the extended contracts.”

Jacqui Rock, DIO’s Commercial Director, said:

“Extending these contracts allows us to provide an uninterrupted service to our customers while we continue work to implement a new framework of contracts under our Future Defence Infrastructure Services programme. These contracts cover a huge range of activity, from technical facilities to homes, and the extensions mean Armed Forces personnel and their families will have continuity of service both at work and at home until the future contracts are delivered.”

Amey is one of the largest corporate supporters of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity and in 2015 committed to raising £250,000 over five years of partnership to help SSAFA provide lifelong support to our Armed Forces and their families. Our partnership and is built on our long-standing support for military and ex-military service men and women and, through the enthusiasm of our employees and supply chain partners taking part in fundraising activities and initiatives, more than £200,000 has been raised for the charity.
